Not so bad

I blogged on Tuesday that I was dreading my weigh in yesterday. Turns out, it wasn't so bad, I ended up losing .6 lbs. I got a nice comment from 4A-HEALTHY-BMI about revisiting my "Why" for maintaining. The reasons for losing and maintaining the weight are still the same . . . I like the way I feel and the way I look. I have a lot of energy and at 53, I have never been on any type of medication. The only health complaint I have right now is sleep interruption from the "night sweats".

I'm still maintaining a healthy lifestyle and only 4 lbs. above my goal weight. I still need to be diligent, but maybe a little less "whining" would be in order! I've been a little negative lately and should really focus more on the good things I do - always get 7+ servings of freggies & drink my water every day and I usually eat healthy and exercise (with a few slip ups!).

So, on that note. I didn't run on Tuesday, but I played about 30 mins. of badminton with DD#3 and also made a healthy dinner of chicken stir fry.

Yesterday I went on a college tour with DD#1 and my oldest sister. DD#1 really liked a college we had visited back in the summer and has already applied there (about 40 miles away). The counselors recommend you visit at least 3-4 colleges and apply to several. We went to a college in downtown Atlanta yesterday. She had it in her mind that she wanted to go to an "urban" campus, but she hated everything about it (her words, not mine). She was a little surprised (and disappointed) that she didn't like it, but is still very excited about the college she has applied to. In fact, she said she didn't even want to bother applying to this school. We've got one more visit in a couple of weeks, but she's already applied to this college (been there before, but not on a tour, so at least she knows a little about it).

Anyway, part of the tour was by a shuttle bus, but we did a lot of walking. After the tour was over, we also walked a couple of blocks away and had lunch at a Korean restaurant (very good!) and then had to walk back to the car. So we got in a lot of walking.

DD#2 took the PSAT yesterday and they got out of school early, so she didn't have a basketball workout. We waited for DH to get home and then DH and I ran the hilly trail and played some basketball - so more exercise yesterday!

It's raining today and I have to hang around the house to wait for the internet guy (we're getting an upgrade) after work. Maybe I'll do my workout DVD?!

I don't really have any plans for the weekend. It's supposed to be a beautiful fall weekend with cool temperatures. The girls are out of school on Friday, but I have to work. DD#1 is working all weekend, DD#2 is going to the mountains with a friend (there goes my running buddy!) and DD#3 is spending the night tonight with a friend.

I'll probably have my great nephew on Saturday, so I'll take him to the park. I hope to get in a run or maybe a long hike on Sunday.

So I'm staying positive and remaining diligent!
