My day totally changed, but still ended well.

Thursday, October 17, 2013

My first plan was to be taken through a propeller plan factory which I forgot about. Having forgotten, I decided to stay home and have a quiet day while catching up on some sewing projects. Then this morning, I received a plaintiff call from my sons girlfriend to say that her car would not start. The galvanized me into action....jump up, dress, brush teeth, grab my shake and rush out the door to take the poor little thing to work.
Fortunately my son is off the rig today so he will fix whatever it is she has done to flatten the battery. On rout, she reminds me of the tour, except that once at work, all hell broke loose and the tour has been postponed.

While returning to my home, I received a phone call to say that a friend of mine is sitting at Beyond Flavor and having a black out attack (long story) and my name starting with C...is the first name in her cell so they called me. Well, I have been around her with these black outs. Strange as it may seem, they are not dangerous to her, just frightening to bystanders.

That led me detouring to sit with my friend and help her through the "coming back from the black out" stuff. This takes a while...today it was 2 hrs. When she came too, we ordered coffee and she insisted on cake with it. She chose a marble cheese cake which looked ABSOLUTELY amazing. I had a teaspoonful and it WAS amazing.

I chose a slice of red velvet cake also to die for.

But I'm proud to say that I only ate the very tip and had the rest put in a take away box IMMEDIATELY. On top of that, the complimentary biscuits that came with our coffee joined them and hubby can indulge later when he comes home.

Sitting there chatting, I learned so much more about her than I ever knew. It was 2 hrs well spent. She heard all about my weight loss journey and shared hers. I never even knew she was ever overweight. In the 1.5yrs I have known her, she has always had a fabulous little figure. She still has her books from the "diet" she followed and is going to loan them to me for reading and gleaning purposes AND has invited me to come any day of the week and hop on her...no idea what you call it....machine you stand on and it vibrates and shakes the fat??
She says its fabulous, she has a very expensive one, not the cheap one. She also says its so good for stress. Seems it just shakes you to a start of relaxation. Well, I will know soon. I may go up tomorrow morning if I get the chance.

What a bonus. Maybe I can "shake" some extra kilograms. emoticon

Another great find for me, is a stability ball. My sons girl friend, toned up SO MUCH from sitting on a stability ball at work in front of the computer, instead of a chair. Each movement to type, answer the phone, twist to take something out the printer etc created core strength exercises. I now have a stability ball on loan.....so guess what Im sitting on as I type.
Another ..... lets see how that works out for me.
Im on a SERIOUS MISSION to get shot of the gut. This tubby midriff MUST GO.

Today feels like a Friday to me, but its only Thursday??
Tomorrow its back to boot camp and maybe some of Elvis's......

You had a better day than I did Celest. I got up, made coffee and porridge, cleaned up. Scrubbed DH very well and went to the Nurse Practicioner, had lunch, walked the dogs for an hr., read emails, made supper, cleaned up, cleaned the heater (1 hr.) and here I am. I am going to bed soon. Tomorrow will not be too much better but Sat. I am going to a birthday party. Not complaining, just saying not enough hrs. in the day. DH had that hip replacement and it takes a lot of my time just helping him.

WOW! I wouldn't have been able to only take a taste of that yummy cake!

I tried to sit on the stability ball, but it was in the way for everyone trying to get to the printer so now, I sit on the edge of the chair, that helps me to "stay on the edge!"

As far as the "shake thing". Make sure you don't lock your knees. What I do (it sounds a lot like the vibrashake thing they have at the gym I go to) I start chewing on a piece of gum and hold it in between my front teeth. I make sure I am standing up straight with my shoulders back, knees bent. Afterwards, you feel like you ran a mile, but not sore.

    Hopefully, you will enjoy it!!

Congrats on the take-away dessert effort! Funny how our days are so often not really our own, but yours certainly was spent in good works and caring for others. You surely made Jehovah smile today. emoticon
