I have a new addiction

Tuesday, October 15, 2013

It's kind of a bad addiction and an unhealthy one, I'm now addicted to whole powered milk and corn flakes. I really don't know why or how it came about but it's here and I need help with it. I've gained 2 pounds since my last weigh in and I'm thinking it's because of the whole milk/full cream(which ever one you want to call it). I do have skimmed milk right there on my kitchen table but I fall for the full cream instead. Is my self discipline lacking? If you read my last blog you would see that I have a problem with refined flour as well. I have come too far to allow anything to hinder/stall my progress. With 33 pounds lost already and only 12 pounds to reach goal, I have to do something about this and I need to do it fast. Anyone kind enough with suggestions as to how I can get this under control? (Both my refine flour problem and my whole milk problem)

i agree with songwriter8, if you cant control yourself get rid of the stuff! and eating it all in one sitting doesn't count! sadly I've had to do the same on many occasions. the only willpower i have is not to bring it into my home, cause once its in my home the cravings control me.

Take these things out of your food storage area, throw them away and don't buy them again. I know that sounds drastic, but if you don't have them around, you will be forced to reach for something else and you will be forced to find substitutes.

Try changing your corn flakes to a different cereal, 1/2 cup of granola like Cascadian farms is pretty healthy and mostly natural ingredients.

Also try changing the foods that you have these things with then you won't be reminded of them.

Hope these ideas help. You have done really great and you can take your body where you want it to be !

Try hard to substitute with a "new addiction". . .I rarely buy fresh pears because they are hard to get and expensive around here, but I have started buying a few and when I really feel the need for "a forbidden treat" - something I don't usually splurge on - I now use a fresh pear rather than the chocolate chip cookie. Because I know I splurged buying them it still feels like a real indulgence. You are doing a great job and have come too far to give in now! You can do this!
