Terrific Tuesday

Son and daughter in law met with birth mother, child and grandmother for over an hour. Little boy seems a perfectly healthy 21 month old - all boy...busy with trucks and cars..he sat and played...greeted them. Birth mother asked them questions and grandmother cried the whole time. At the end grandmother said she didn't know if she could do this or not. So my son and daughter in law left devestated...again. But social worker told them she would talk with them and get back to them. After 2 1/2 hours social worker told them to proceed with their adoption lawyer appointment that they want to proceed but it is hard for the grandma...which it should be. My son said the little boy is just adorable. He is a cutie to be sure. They are cautiously optimistic. They so long for a little one. The family has taken him to the zoo, the aquarium and he appears to be right on target for his age. He doesn't watch a lot of TV. So with caution to our heart we proceed forward. Birth mother is going away to school Dec 1 and wants it all overwith by then. So busy time to get everything settled. Daughter in law is super busy with work events right now. She goes from one to another which is helping to keep her mind occupied and she has to focus on the event and not dwell on the ups and downs of adoption.

Got in morning work out lunchtime walk and Curves after work. Getting back into working out. Amazing how much Mom has improved with Curves. Owner commented how much she had improved in just three sessions. Of course Mom likes all the attention. Told the owner she hadn't eaten all day...then just a spoonful of yogurt. Took her to Bob Evans afterwards as hubby had meeting and she was STARVING. She ordered chicken penne pasta and then when it arrived said it looked like her lunch which was chicken with rice soup and she was still full of that. Sat and picked out things she didn't want with her meal and took most of it home. Wanted dessert and ordered apple pie and then said she couldn't eat it. So we boxed it up and she took it home where she can pick on it. I try to not...but I let her get under my skin. We put up new blinds on her windows and now they are too bright and she needs curtains. She catches herself and says...all I do is whine and complain... I hold my tongue but afterwards think...I'm not going to do this again. She thinks she needs a housekeeper. Her house is immaculate...dusty some.... Lots of the other ladies in her community have a housekeeper so she wants one. One she is still keeping her home clean and two she'll say they are stealing from her. Not looking forward to this latest saga. My thoughts were always when she wasn't able to keep up with everything we could get someone in...but what else does she have to do????? She'll think they are the greatest for a few weeks.

Ahhh the joys of caring for our parents....our difficult parents.

Needless to say I came home exhausted and soon went to bed.

Off to seize the day and make it a great one. Need to save some energy to work on the downstairs tonight. Company coming on Friday....
