Ready, set, go!

Friday, October 11, 2013

I had a really busy day at work yesterday, even though we only had 2 patients. After they were gone, we had to get ready for a farewell party for one of he docs. I was smart, and even though I didn't get lunch, I went home around 3:30 and ate a nice meal and went back for the party at 5. There was a lot of food, and though most of it would have been fine for me to nibble on, I stuck to water. At the end of the evening, I treated myself to a little brownie...yum!

Today, I had off, and I slept in (7am!). I feel bad now, I didn't go for a walk. I did do some lunges early in the day but that's about it. Then I spent the majority of the day making gift bags for the Pumpkin Fest coming up next weekend. Another win for me; I spent all day with various bags of candy, and didn't eat a one!

I received all the paperwork from the transplant center today. I am excited, since even though they had my last name spelled wrong, they were able to send me a few papers via email with my name corrected, so I can hopefully start the testing early next week. The list of tests is daunting, but I am ready! Seriously, there are like 20 plus separate blood tests (with not that many pokes!) alone! If you are interested in what they are specifically, let me know.

The only ones I am worried about are the glucose tests. While I don't have diabetes, the last time I had blood work, my fasting glucose was high, as were my triglycerides and cholesterol. I now take simvastatin, so I'm not worried about that. I've also lost weight and exercise more since those tests. It will be fun to see where I am now.

Wish me luck and have a great weekend!
