Week 12: Down 14 pounds so far
Thursday, October 10, 2013
So it’s been 9 weeks since my last entry… Slacker, I know. ;) I have been meaning to write this blog entry all week. Lol.
Only 3 pounds lost in the last many weeks... In all fairness, I know I had gained back a few of those 11 pounds I had lost during the first 3 weeks, but have managed to take those and a few more off since my last post. I got so busy with life that I just kind of put my exercise and nutrition on the back burner. Not totally tossed out the window, but lost focus. Though I don’t feel accomplished in these last 9 weeks I haven’t given up. Can’t fail if you don’t stop trying right? Lol. Just needed to reassess and get back to it! :-D
These last 2 weeks I have been really trying to get my life back in a healthy(er) gear. Prepping lunches and snacks for work, scheduling workout time into my planner, cutting out diet soda and drinking more water, etc. I am also thrilled to have my fella be part of my motivation. He just signed up at the gym that I go to and we are working in times to go together. Love the motivation. :-)
Last weekend I also signed up for a “biggest loser” challenge at my home gym. I saw the flyer and was instantly sold! Lol. It’s a short term goal so it will be a fun (achievable) challenge for me. :-) (Plus six months of free membership if I happen to win… Heck yea!) The time window is from Oct 7th to Now 25th. A 7 week challenge. And bonus, it ends right around my birthday time! One of my short term goals when I started blogging was to lose a certain amounts by my birthday and by the end of the year… Not sure if I will get there but I will be even closer with the motivation of this challenge.
Something I feel truly affects my overall health and well-being is sleep. I don’t sleep enough. Period. Lol. I average around 5/6 hours a night… Ugh. Lol. I work full time during the day and have events/meetings/projects/etc in the evenings. I need to put myself to bed earlier, schedule less in the evenings during the week and have some down time for myself. Maybe not every night, but at least a few times a week. The weekends… Are another story. Haha. I’m all over the place for those but during the week I can try to stick to a the things that are optimal for my health.
This week I have been truly trying to listen to my body to eat or snack only when I am hungry. Goals for the coming weeks; keep up with the healthy packing of lunches/snacks, get at least 7 hours of sleep a night and getting to the gym 3 times a week. Oh and more cuddle time… Always more cuddles!! ;-)
Cheers to health, wealth, happiness and love!!
