Day 11 - I hate cubicle land

Wednesday, October 09, 2013

Annoying, it is Halloween candy time. Why don't people just take a "no thank you" for what it is and walk away? I had to be harrased by the four 20 somethings that surround me in cubicles. Why, why, just have one, have a candy bar, why,

So I explained to them that I am sugar free and staying that way. In fact looking at the Candy is nauseating this morning.

I would have been better off lying and telling people I'm diabetic and they are being arses.

Then naturally skinny minny 20 something says "what about wine?, don't you drink wine?"

I answered no. These days all I drink is water. "oh I couldn't do that" while she takes another handful of the little candy bars. Then another 20 something says to the skinny chick "but you're a runner, you just run it off". I'm annoyed and fuming, is he implying I'm lazy. argh.

Very annoyed with cubicle land. I have two degrees and am almost 20 years older than these folks. I should make my own dilbert like comic strip about my lack of privacy at work. This is only hour one of ten too!

Besides work annoyance, morning is good. Had a vanilla pancake with some eggwhites for breakfast. Just fried it a bit. It is like a mushy pancake. Is nice to have a change from the omelete from time to time. Last night I didn't have time to eat any veggies. I ate on the run from one place to another. I had some pre-made meatballs and a bit of celery. Maybe that is why I'm a touch grouchy, I know I wasn't perfect with the protocol yesterday.

Tonight will be better. Tomorrow I have an event to get to but I'll also have time to eat at home. The living on the run lifestyle is one of those things that made me overweight so I'm going to have to either stop living on the run or figure out how to eat healthy on the run.

emoticon hour ten of ten and made it through the day

The day ended quite well actually. I am very thankful that this year I don't want and will not have any of the halloween stuff. I can't believe how much of our holidays are mostly about eating and drinking. You really notice when you become an observer not a participater.

Cubical land can be SOOO awful -- especially if your co-worked don't understand cube etiquette. Hopefully they ease up but if they don't maybe just tell them you have made the decision to go sugar free and you would appreciate it if they would respect that decision without questioning your motives ... may work?

Being a nurse you were always around everybody at the nurses station and no privacy so I know where your coming from. Keep up the good work as you fend them off.

Oh, I work in cubicle land.... I hate trying to have "private" conversations - it's impossible. And, also overhearing other people's private business! There's gotta be a better way --- text messaging?
