Great day today!
The weather was GORGEOUS and I felt good, so I walked about a mile further than I did yesterday. It didn't even feel like work until the last mile (I walked about 5.5), when I was starting to get tired. It was sunny, cool, and breezy and I had my IPod and my walking partner with me. What else could I need?
Today's been successful for me in terms of food and water intake, too.
Only downside was that I'm still dealing with some internal conflicts. But this, too, shall pass.
So . . . what made my day so GREAT?
I discovered my next motivational tool and it was quite by accident.
After my walk this morning, I came home, took a shower, and threw the ingredients into the crockpot for Chicken Taco Stew. Then, I took myself to the diner for a healthy lunch:
Lima Bean Soup, Grilled Chicken Breast, Applesauce, and Red Skin Potatoes. I even skipped dessert!
Next stop was Hair Cuttery. My hair was starting to get a little out of control, so I got a quick cut. Right now, my hair is au naturel and quite gray and I think I'm going to color it again before my trip to AZ next week.
Which got me to thinking about what to wear on my trip.
I've spent this whole summer in shorts and tee shirts. I don't think I've gotten dressed up at all since last May and, with all the weight I've gained back, I KNOW there's nothing in my closet that would fit AND be nice enough to wear on my trip. So, off to the mall I went to pick out 2 or 3 summer outfits (on clearance) to get me through.
Needless to say, I didn't buy anything. I picked out some things and took them into the dressing room. It wasn't hard to figure out what size tent I need and it actually wasn't as bad as I was expecting. BUT, here's the good part . . . while I was in the fitting room, I caught a glimpse of my unclothed body in the full length mirror.
That little shock was enough to light the proverbial "SPARK" under my butt!
Tomorrow, I'm going buy myself a full-length mirror to hang on the back of my bedroom door just so I can look at myself every day. As I am, the mirror will serve as motivation and, as I change, it will also serve as a reward for my efforts.
Time for a little honest, self-reflection!
