A lovely day today

Tuesday, October 08, 2013

It was such a beautiful warm day today that we went for a walk to the lake.

With temperatures soaring for this time of year, most people were in shirt sleeves and or cardigans. It was very busy.
The birds were taking it easy.

There were some beautiful Michaelmas daisies

Some birds were sleeping in the shade of the Weeping Willows

The Egyptian geese were waiting to be fed

The cygnets spied us and were coming

All the birds were hungry

The cygnets like to get up close and personal.

Its the first time for several years we have had signets on the lake. They are almost full size now. There are 6 babies altogether.

With an adult swan.

The sky is so blue with little fluffy clouds

The Island and the boats

Adrian walking

I will put the rest of the photos on tomorrow as there are rather a lot. This is half way round the lake.

What a beautiful day indeed. Your pictures are fantastic Ellen. I love how the clouds are reflecting in the water. Willows are such interesting trees. Is that one big tree? Or two trees side by side. Beautiful pic. The Signets get to be a good sized birds. Their babies are so cute! emoticon

I really enjoyed your walkway and photos. Maybe you should have a peek at my walk too, this morning. There's Tundra Swans and Eider Ducks on it. emoticon emoticon

Lovely photos and the Michaelmas Daisies reminded me of my child hood. Our Parish was St Michael's so the church was TOTALLY decorated with them and then the harvest festival foods were put in to the flowers. I just loved to see the Wheat sheaf bread about a yard tall, just about my height. HUGS i am so happy you are back and the pictures are great Thanks, Pat in Maine. emoticon
