... and I'm back!

I made it back home. While 'in transit' these last four weeks, I let my diet and workouts lapse by nessesity. More diet then workout - I managed to get in a 5 mile run in a tiny little country called Kyrgyzstan, walk all over the beautiful city of Philadelphia and run through the New Jersey countryside. However, my diet has been.. Yeah. Nasty, deep fried and tasteless food at the local chow hall plus delicious but nutritiously poor bar and carryout food - my choices were poor at best. In addition, plenty of 'back in the USA' partying presented too much temptation and peer pressure. Now that I am finally at home, I am getting my diet back on track. I got salmon cut into one-serving pieces in my fridge hanging out with single-serving baggies of chicken breasts. Kale is making a new home in my veggie bin, with it's roommates tomatoes, celery and broccoli. My breakfast and lunch were uber healthy - turkey/avocado rollups, eggs with salmon. Dinner is looking like more baked salmon (the house smells amazing, like lemons and rosemary, from the salmon being baked). On the workout front, I did good too - walked a mile with a good friend I haven't seen for a year, and signed up at the local CrossFit box after a nice, sweaty one hour workout. On the downside, I gained back 6lb over the last three weeks, making my goal of 150's before Halloween look less attainable. However, I am hoping the majority of that is water weight from eating all kinds of salty food I didn't eat for a year, so maybe it will go away. Anyway, the goal, again, is to lose 10 lb during the remainder of October... Let's get crackin' on it.
