Today started out pretty well.
I was up and out the door early with Justice, my Belgian Sheepdog pup and walking partner (pictured here with his partner in crime, Scrabble).
The idea was to fit my walk in early, before the torrential rain that was supposed to hit us around lunch time. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans and she rained on our parade almost the whole time. Not to worry, J Dog and I walked over 4 miles in a little over an hour. He thought the rain was great!
Then, I went to the dentist to have a cavity filled. I hate the dentist , but I've been going to this one for about a decade or more because they are SOOOOO wonderful. As expected, all went well.
Then I took myself out to lunch and braved Friendly's. They have a new grilled turkey tips entrée that's served with fresh steamed broccoli and rice that is REALLY good. So, I got that and followed it up with dessert. This time I didn't have a small dish of sherbet though. I succumbed to my Happy Ending Hot Fudge Sundae. It's ok. I put everything in my nutrition tracker and I am still within my calorie range for the day (but not by much). I only have room for a 100 calorie snack before bed. It's going to be tough, but I did it to myself.
It's that emotional/stress eating monster nipping at my soul. I have to continue to work on taming that Bad Boy!
Tonight, I'm picking up my son and taking him with me to choir rehearsal. That should be fun for both of us. I'll see a bunch of very nice people and have fun singing and learning new music. Should be a good stress reducer.
I also plan to make a lunch date with one of my friends there. I sing alto and she sings soprano and we're both facing the Healthy Weight Challenge. We've met at Saladworks the past two Wednesdays and really had a good time eating healthy and chatting about life. Visiting with Shirley is expanding my network of support and gives me something to look forward to.
I should get home around 9:30 tonight and plan to have my little snack and head straight to bed. Have to get to sleep before I feel too hungry and raid the kitchen.
All in all, not a perfect day, but not too far off track either. I'll take it.
Now I have to go feed my pack, The Magnificent Seven!, and go over some of my music before rehearsal.
