What a great start to the weekend....B U S Y!!!!! Today, we went to OSV, Olde Sturbridge Village, a 1800's living museum. It was Friends Day, with a rededication to the OLDE SAW MILL. Rededication?????? Well, the original Saw mill was built in the 1780's, lost during the Hurricane of 1938, yes that was many, many years ago, rebuilt 1984 using the original PLANS, then after nearly 30 years, had to be "mended with all the weathered damage."
Today was that rededication, with Norm Abrams from PBS "THIS OLD HOUSE" and "Norm's Barn" in attendance. He, along with many others, contribute time, monies, effort, and knowledge to OSV and those that have been there, will attest to the joys of their visit.
I walked over 6000 steps, with my visit today, and loved every bit of it. Going in and out so many of the buildings, listening to the "Village Locals" as they explain their lives, going to the school, tavern, bank, farm houses, and meeting houses, makes HISTORY come to life. We enjoy taking our grandchildren with us, whenever possible, but today it was just DH and myself. I want to encourage each of you, to visit YOUR local Parks, Museums, and Family Events. There is so much to see, so much to do, and places to explore. I did not get a chance to spend much time on the computer with my SPF's and teammates, but I think you will all agree....Living life to the fullest, seeing and doing, moving (like getting exercise in, and not realizing it) is so much fun!!!!
