Had an awesome workout today! The free weight section of my gym was completely empty. So I had first dibs on all of the equipment. I even got to try out the squat rack, which I've been eyeing for over a month. I worked out extra hard and can already feel the effects.

I decided to give the Nerd Fitness workouts a second chance. So glad that I did. It's a totally different animal with heavy weights. Deadlifts, Squats, Lunges, Overhead presses and barbell rows are so much fun. It makes me sad that I waited so long to try weightlifting. I could have been doing this years ago! It's empowering to look at a heavy barbell and lift it. Then to have the willpower to keep going, even when your body is telling you it can't do anymore. You have to trust yourself and your abilities. I only wish that more women knew what weightlifting can do for your self-esteem and confidence.
