FInally!! Back on the internet

Friday, October 04, 2013

Neither computer would get on the internet yesterday. The desktop was confused and found it necessary to sit in an loop for hours. The laptop was so tired that it just finally gave up. AND, both computers are in excess of 4 years old. It turns out that is the "expiration date" for computers these days. So, I went out an purchased a laptop. The Windows products that I bought did not come on a DVD or CD. There was a card. We had problems. We were on the phone with Microsoft for 1 hour and a half. I had to allow the Microsoft person to have access to my computer. But, in the end, it all worked out OK. I now have the software installed, and it seems to be working just fine. WHEW!! Oh, and, obviously, I am back on the internet now.

And, I got my fitbit software to work on the new laptop.

i just kind of run my computers into the ground, and all of them past support for the operating system. transferring data files is the hard thing, from old comuter to new one.

Yes, we know how to do the system restore. However, we decided not to do that with the laptop. We may do it with the desktop. I clearly cannot afford to replace both of them!

And, I was able to get a new laptop with Windows 7. My husband requested that I not get Windows 8. He is in the industry. All the local stores, including BB had only Windows 8 machines, so I went across town to Microcenter.

Glad you got a new computer and are back on the Internet. I have been procrastinating in buying a new one since I am not sure that I will like Windows 8. Hope you have good luck with yours!

Did you know you can do a system restore back to factory specs on your computer?

Did you know you can do a system restore back to factory specs on your computer? It clears everything out and is just like it was when you bought it. Many computers last much longer than 4 years, my hubby's is 6 or so years old and just whiz's along.
