We need prayers and positive vibes.

Friday, October 04, 2013

As some of you know my niece was diagnosed with cancer (found when having her gall bladder removed). Originally we were told it was a non aggressive slow growing type of cancer, but there are numerous tumors. Because this is a "rare" type of cancer the doctors here sent her test results to John Hopkins for a consult. They apparently have dealt with this type of cancer. Yesterday we found out that although this type of cancer is "rare" it has been classified as an aggressive ovarian related cancer. Her ovaries show no sign of disease.
On October 13th she will go in for extensive surgery to remove what they can of the cancer, followed by a very aggressive chemo plan.
Needless to say, we are still working through this news and coping as well as we can.
We could use all the prayers, good thoughts and strong positive vibes you can muster up. I personally need to stay strong not only for my niece but my BFF is her Mom.
My BFF and I have been friends for 40+ years and have "survivor" blood running through our veins. Not for any medical reasons, but for the lemons life has thrown at us over the years. Right now I will admit that I am feeling helpless. But I will turn to my faith and the medical advances made over the years.
Thanks for stopping by (and letting me vent a bit)
Hope everyone has a good, healthy, happy weekend. Don't forget to hug the ones you love....((HUGS))

Had to read this to catch up on what was happening.

We are all praying. Sometimes it's hard to be positive, but try to trust in all the guidance we have...from each other, our medical teams and our higher power.

My daughter's recovering from a rare and very aggressive kind of breast cancer, after a year and a half of a super-chemo routine. Her hair is back, and she's looking and so far feeling great. I'm hoping your niece will stay positive and face her cancer with determination. emoticon emoticon

Oh, Barb. I am so very sorry to hear this. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Keep the faith, love and hope.
    Dear God,
Barb and her BFF have received some terrible news about one your children. I am asking that you guide the doctors, nurses and medical staff in finding the right protocol, all the cancer and help this girl beat this evil disease. Comfort all friends and family and most of all Barbs niece. Give them all the love, hope and strength they will need to beat this and get through this, that I know only you have to give.
    In Jesus name I pray,

    Love and huge hugs,
