This is going to be a very "rambling" sort of entry, I have about three different things on my mind.

The good - my day yesterday started off very well - I had a wonderful salad at lunch that was inspired by NOTABOUTTHEFACE. I had a salad with romaine lettuce, rotisserie chicken, chopped up apple, and scallions tossed with a tiny bit of mayo. OMG - YUM! I will be having that again and I think some red onion would be mighty tasty in there as well.

So here is the "bad": Take out a bunch of lame excuses and just sum it up with this - I made choices that are not beneficial to my goals in the evening. Total calories for the day:

So I was thinking this morning. LOL - I love to think (and overthink, and then think some more - ha!)

I've been doing a bit of an "experiment" on myself to see if what I've suspected to be true really IS true. The experiment? Do Breads/Sugars make me bloat and gain weight?

I didn't want it to be true, but it is. Here is what I've found over the past few months that I've been monitoring this and paying attention.

emoticon If I completely eliminate the refined carbs and severely limit sugar - I lose weight easily with little or no effort

emoticon If I have just one or two refined carbs and/or desert per week this has no ill effect.

emoticon If I have one or two refined carbs and/or desert PER DAY - this is too much - I either maintain or start to gain.

emoticon My body responds very well to fruits/veggies/proteins/ high quality fats like coconut oil, real butter and plenty of water

emoticon My body craves breads/sugars once I put them in my system, but when I avoid them, my body doesn't want them

emoticon My MIND wants the breads/sugars

emoticon What works for ME is what works for ME and does not need to be compared to what works for anybody else.

Those realizations feel good and right and true to me.

On a completely separate note, I saw these beauties on my peach tree this morning. It is a miniature peach tree and I didn't think it would get real fruit. This looks pretty real to me. LOL!

Also, I'll need extra accountability this weekend as I am traveling with my husband to Texas to go to a Dallas Cowboys Game. I'm going to do my best to eat primally, definitely at least taking photos of what I eat if no time to track.

Here are my nails - I HAD to get ready for the game. Hee hee!!

Kudos to you for taking the time and effort to discover these things about yourself and your body.

I have discovered if I have sugar (in any form) in my home I will suddenly crave it, no tasting required!!

    And your nails look great!

I'm right there with you! I've been doing strict primal this week and feel amazing - so much less bloated, too! I love your distinction between what your body wants (not breads/sugars) and what your mind wants (CUPCAKES! :)

Also - my wedding/engagement set is almost identical to yours :)

Those are some awesome realizations that you have made! I think that's a fantastic idea to learn what your body likes and what it doesn't like! That is definitely something that I will have to try out! Good luck this weekend, and keep up the good work!!
