September Review and October Goals

This past month was one of the most challenging months I've had in a while! I had everything thrown at me from migraines, to out of town family coming for a week, to my dog had an issue with animal care and control, to work being really stressful.

But even with that being said I did make 1,000 minutes which is my "always" monthly minute goal. The very least I want to do is 1,000 and I accomplished that AND since I stopped birth control in July I have lost 12 pounds! So if you are female and you are on birth control but your doctor says "oh the birth control doesn't make you lose weight, you are just eating to many carbs" don't!!! I repeat DON'T take that as an answer! I was so relieved when I started losing weight. I literally dropped 7 pounds in the first week and I have dropped 5 more since then. I know birth control is a necessary evil but definitely weigh all the pros and cons of each kind.

Goals for October:
- Keep working on my Insanity/Combat/Asylum v1 and v2 hybrid. I know I won't do the whole thing in 6 weeks because there are alot of workouts but I gave myself 2 extra weeks to start!
- 1,000+ minutes
-Centergy at least 1x/week. I need to work on stretching and flexibility
- start running consistently again (maybe 1 or 2x week depending on weather)
- only 5 "off" days
- get at least 7 hours of sleep!!
-I would like to lose another 3 pounds for a total of 15

I think this is definitely a continual learning process. You are always learning what works and doesn't work for you and new ways to do things or new ways to eat and get good nutrition. I have learned that sleep is a HUGE thing in my life since I get migraines. I notice a big difference when I get sleep vs when I don't and by Friday I'm just drained. I don't want to take medicine so I try to treat migraines with sleep, yoga and a massage 1x/month. I also now have a peppermint stick roller to help with tension in my head. I learned about that at my last massage.

    That is awesome you've dropped weight since getting off birth control. It is an evil I go back and forth with. I too get migraines and am a mess without sleep but I never contributed migraines to BC but it might be the case.

    So you stopped taking your birth control? Does that mean what I think it means?

    I had to stop taking birth control too. It actually messed up all my hormones - including my thyroid. For some people it just doesn't work and for some people it does. You just have to figure out what works. I had migraines, stomach pains on top of weight gain. Doctor said it's not the pill that caused the weight gain, it's what the pill did to my hormones that caused the weight gain.

    I am glad to hear you are doing better off the pill! And I love your October Goals

    Good luck! Too hybrid is different. I am using Insanity too but with Chalean Extreme.
