Oops, it's been awhile!

I can't believe I haven't posted for over 20 days and I didn't even realize it! I still log in all the time, not sure how that happened!

Shortly after doing the Oly total, we did the CrossFit total. I skipped it the last time we did it (Around June) because I knew my numbers had gone down since the time before that (which was immediately following 4 months of doing strength class 3x a week). I knew I needed to just do it and see where I'm at:

Press: 85# (2# PR)
Squat: 158# (down from 173#)
Deadlift: 223# (down from 233#)

In the past few months, I haven't done much squatting or (any) deadlifting. I decided to go back to doing open gym at least once a week to "make up" any strength work I miss. I've made it two weeks in a row, so hopefully it continues! I was actually excited by that squat number because I used to struggle with getting full depth on my squat. When it got heavy, I tended to stop just above parallel. One day, somewhat out of nowhere, I started going beyond parallel with no problem. I couldn't do quite as much weight, but my form was much better. I give credit to mobility and Oly class.

I'm am also in the midst of a 8 week nutrition challenge. I am approaching this one a bit more relaxed than usual. I have a tendency to be a perfectionist and have been super strict during other challenges, which only leaves me feeling the need to "go crazy" once they are over. This time I'm being much more balanced. For food, you can get 10 points (all paleo), 5 points (1-2 non paleo foods), or 0. In past challenges I have gotten a 10 every day. This time I've taken a couple 5s and even a couple zeros. I'm not stressed about it. My weight is going down. Slowly, but down. They way I'm eating now is much more sustainable.

I've had some fun PRs in the past week. The last time I did Isabel, I used 58# and finished in 2:36. This time I did 73# in 4:09. We also did my all time favorite: THE BEAR! I PRed about 6 months ago at 78#, which was a 10# PR from 6 months before that. This time I PRed by 10# AGAIN! I DID THE BEAR WITH 88 POUNDS!!!!!!

I have to head off to work now, but I will try not to go so long without posting again!
