Now that you have read that, listen to this. You are sitting there wondering what the heck is wrong with this woman? Not sure but it was fun. My friend and I used to do this when we wrote to each other and sometimes it was 3 pages long. One time we wrote in circles, a whole page of one large circle.

I know that getting healthy and losing weight is serious business but you have to have a sense of humor. If you don't every time that scale goes up, you feel down. You can beat that little thing. It isn't human and you are. I know you can make a plan that works for you and stick with it. It is a matter of making it a habit. If you get up and put your food in the tracker, you know what you can have. If you want a treat then you have to work it out with the calories for the day. If you know you are going out then go online and get the menu and have it all planned ahead of time. I know you already know all this...but it never hurts to be reminded.

I have upped my exerexcise this week after almost none in the last two weeks because of those darn shingles. I still have them but the pain is lessening and I need something to take my mind off the itchies.

It is time to get up and quit with the excuses....even if my excuses are pretty good, it feels better to get back to moving.

Did you ever imagine being this way when you were in your teens? We thought we knew everything then and that, when we were ready, we would lose weight. Only thing is the years go fast and you soon find yourself still overweight and older.

Well I am here to say that I am going to move 60 min. a day and make sure that I eat right. What is right? Whatever is in my calorie range. Whatever my body says to eat that is good for me.

So lets get this show on the road and keep moving. Meditate and see yourself as you want to be and how you will be. We are strong and dedicated to making it work. Namaste, Pam

    The only thing my friends and I did were make gum wrapper chains, we weren't creative enough to write to each other in backwards languages I guess. Circles? OK, as a former high school teacher I can tell you I would have had fun confiscating those! My policy on passing notes in class was, "Don't do it. If I catch you I'll call your house and read your note to your parents." That was a pretty good deterrent but I'm not sure what I would have done with one of those, "translated" it first probably.

    Enough about the notes, the message in your blog was clear, even if the beginning wasn't immediately. Do the best that you can every day. Move, eat right and calm yourself. By the way, everything you've been going through for the last few weeks don't count as EXCUSES, they are all valid REASONS. If you try to continue and exercise and not rest adequately when you're that sick all you'll accomplish is taking longer to heal. I'm glad you're finally feeling enough better to start exercising again.

    One of the most valuable exercises I ever had to do in college was sit in a class and try and learn to write backwards and upside down (mirror writing). As we struggled with this, the instructor walked around saying things like "you are holding the pencil wrong. Do it this way." "You're never going to be good at this if you keep doing that." "You're wrong, I'm right."

    The purpose was to show us that not everyone learns or does things in the same way, but many different methods can be used to achieve the same end. Just because one person learns differently from another doesn't make either wrong.

    That was fun!! I found that the more I read the easier it got.... so too with exercise. I the more you do the easier it gets!! Never give up and glad you are feeling better!! emoticon
