Thought and Prayer for Thursday, September 26, 2013

Thursday, September 26, 2013

If we were to think back on all the times we made bad decisions or had tough situations in life, we would see we made it through those times. We would see that no matter how dark the situation seemed, we were able to get through it and move on. Troubles come and go. And what we do in times of trouble does have an impact on our lives and the lives of others. What we learn during those times can help us and help others. And we can count on trouble again. That is just life. However, when we have troubles and go in the wrong direction, God will help us again because of His mercy. It’s important that when He does help us we learn from it, move on and not allow it to happen again.

Habakkuk 3:2 “I have heard all about you, LORD. I am filled with awe by your amazing works. In this time of our deep need, help us again as you did in years gone by. And in your anger, remember your mercy.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, we thank You for Your mercy. We thank You that You help us again and again in times of trouble. Help us to learn from our hard times and strive not to repeat the same mistakes over and over but to move forward and help others to do the same. We are filled with awe by Your amazing works. We love You and thank You for all You are and all You do. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Isaiah 63:7 “I will tell of the LORD’s unfailing love. I will praise the LORD for all he has done. I will rejoice in his great goodness to Israel, which he has granted according to his mercy and love.” (NLT)

It is so important to share God’s love and mercy with others in times of trouble.

When we are having hard times, we can share God with others by demonstrating our faith in Him.

We can tell others of God’s unfailing love and praise Him in times of trouble.

Every time we go through hard times, God teaches us to lean on Him.

God’s mercy is free for the asking. There is no limit to what He wants to do for us.

Isaiah 48:20b “The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding.” (NLT)
