Day 1 Intermittent Fasting Journal

My first day went well. I ate a late snack finishing at 10:45 PM last night. I fasted until 3 PM today, so my fast was 16.25 hrs. I was not hungry at all and found it easy. It was good to be free of eating and preparing food and I was able to concentrate on other tasks. During the final hour of my fast I took a 1-hr 3.3 mile walk. I took a 2nd 1-hr 3.3 mile walk later in the day as well. I ate typically; I am a vegetarian. I got a decent amount accomplished today. No hunger pangs at any time. I ate 2122 calories and burned 480 calories. I just got back from a 3-week trip to Alaska yesterday. We came in on 2 red eye flights (Anchorage to Seattle and Seattle to Chicago O'Hare) with a 4 hr stopover in Seattle from 1:45-5:45 AM. I got zero sleep coming home to Chicago. The baby was up and he has a cold. It was good to rest in my own bed for the first time in 3 weeks last night. I did sleep decently, about 8 hrs. I did some grocery shopping today, so we now have food in the house. It feels great to prepare food from scratch in my own kitchen. On vacation we ate out once per day on average and ate leftovers and easy snacks for the other meals. My weight is the same as before vacation. We did a fair amount of hiking in Alaska. It was gorgeous!
