Home in Florida

Tuesday, September 24, 2013

Well here it is almost 2 weeks back in Florida. This is our home now as we have sold our home in Waterbury VT. It feels good to be here. while we will miss family, friends and our home. this is where we should be.
Our home has central air which is good for John's breathing. Come to find out the best exercise for John's advance COPD is exercising in the water. 93 being the best temperature. We are so lucky to have the PT pool at our health club at 92. Walking for 20-25 min. on the treadmill exhausts John, but he can walk in the water for 30 min. without his oxygen. The theory being because the water is warmer it thins the blood making it move through the veins and arteries carrying the oxygen to his lungs more efficiently.
We are devoting our time and effort to John's health. We only have to do 3 things.Take his medication, maintain or gain weight, and exercise. He continues to sleep apx 15 hours a day.

I don't know what part of Florida that you are in but it does get cold here in Central Florida and so watch out for them. Not as cold as the North but it has been known to get down in the 30's at times,.

How fortunate you are to be able to re-locate to such a beautiful place. Our oldest daughter has lived in Florida for 14 years because of her job. It is bitter sweet moving away from family and friends, but will you really miss winter????
