Heart Rate hOOping

This morning, I decided to head out to the park to do a little hooping. I was chained to my desk all last week and I needed to get out and see some blue sky. Lately, I've been wearing a heart rate monitor while I workout, so I can make sure I'm working hard enough (and not too hard, at the same time). Just for fun, and because I was curious, I wore a heart rate monitor while I hooped, just to see what would happen. It confirmed what I already knew--hooping can be really good cardio, if you push yourself hard enough. I ended up hooping for around 20 minutes, staying in the higher 70's-low 80's percentage of my target heart rate range. That's right where I am when I'm pushing myself on the elliptical too. Woo to my hoopy hoo.
And barrel rolls, yes, they will get you there.
