Diaper Covers-Update and photos

It's official! Baby Lina is using the biodegradable diaper inserts. Mom and Dad are thrilled with being parents, and I'm learning tons. I had no idea that parents have so many choices with diapers-cotton, flannel, wool, store bought, online, and then there are the inserts that go inside the diaper covers. I have about 10 options on the Babyville diaper covers.
Here is my first attempt:

Being a long distance sewing Gramma brings some obstacles. I have yet to hold my lovely little Lina. I can't see how the diapers covers fit, but I can tell a lot from the photo. The elastic on the legs needs to be tighter, and the Velcro on the waist needs to be looser.

I also learned that it is cheaper to buy the diaper covers than to make them, but this is my way to stay connected to my son and daughter-in-law, far away, and both in medical school.

Life is not perfect in my world, but we keep moving forward. That little baby face is just too cute to ignore!
