Wrong side of the bed

Thursday, September 19, 2013

Please forgive me. I think I woke up on the wrong side of the bed today because I am in a foul mood.

When I got up I checked my email and saw I had several replies about my "Bum Knee" blog. It has been so wonderful getting such an outpouring of support and commiseration from fellow Sparkers, but there is always one thrown in there that just annoys me. Sadly, waking up in bad mood made this the one day I just couldn't ignore it as I usually do.

The blog reply post wasn't even a real post if you ask me. It was just pictures...pictures that said "Keep on Pushing!" "You Can Do It!"...excuse me, but did you even bother to read my blog? Keep on pushing? What? You WANT me to tear my MCL or ACL?? Uh...thanks?

If you are just replying for the points you are totally missing the point of Spark and you probably won't be as successful in reaching your goals as the rest of us. It makes me sad for those people. They are still taking the easy way out and cheating themselves. If I have learned anything from Spark and the friends I have made here it is that positive reinforcement, support and hard work make a massive difference.

So, if you reply to my blog posts in the future...please at least read them first so you can put up the appropriate pictures when you go collecting your points. Thanks.

Oh I know exactly what you mean! Sometimes I think people read the title and that's it! Frustrating, isn't it?

I'll go read the bum knee blog - but having had two surgeries (meniscus repairs) I know the frustration of not being able to do what you want, having to baby the knee, and feeling like it will be like this forever. It won't, but it feels like that.

Hugs to you, and I hope your day improves!!!

had to read the "Bum Knee" blogs first before I replied.

I can't imagine being told to stay off my feet let alone have an injury to deal with also. I wish you a speedy recovery and hopefully by venting a bit, your foul mood will pass a bit more quickly.

    All the best ,
