Day 1 of GM detox

Thursday, September 19, 2013

Following my plotting, planning and preparation yesterday, today I got straight into the pointy end of the stick and did what I had set out to do. I embarked on Day 1 of the GM diet... and woke up to this wonderful array of colourful fruit (not to mention a few other fruit surprises I had in the fridge). I have posted a photo so I hope it turns out!!

Then I dusted off my teapot and filled it with lovely pure green tea which I continued to consume all day inbetween copious amounts of filtered water and also a few black coffees just to keep up a bit of diversity. Let's see if this next photo also turns out!!

Yes you can see that I was definitely entertaining myself with the camera and really getting into the spirit of what a healthy lifestyle is all about. All of this within 1/2 hour of waking (LOL). What then did the rest of the day have to offer!!

The treadmill got a workout at 4 different times during the day with a total of 60mins completed and 310calories burned. I was so inspired by one person's weightloss sparkspage that I mailed them that I was getting straight back onto that treadmill to do another km and I did !! All up walking 4.2kms on the treadmill today. Got to make the most of the motivated state while I can because I know too well from vast experience that there will be challenging times ahead.

Around lunch time I decided to make the GM diet 'wonder soup' which you are allowed to also consume in unlimted quantities throughout the 7 days. OK, so the camera came out again - I'm really getting into this aren't I ??

The photo I uploaded (if that works!) is of the ingredients before boiling up (onions, cabbage, celery, peppers and tomatoes which are fresh picked from my garden).

The remainder of today will be in consuming more fruits and looking forward to tomorrow which is VEGETABLE day!! Mind you when I did this diet a month ago, the vegetable day was my most challenging day, so I'll try and be a bit clever tomorrow with what recipes I can come up with made up of only vegies and nothing else! I am on the ready to bake up some eggplant and beetroot to start off the ideas.

So still in great spirits and thoroughly enjoyed sweating out the toxins whilst pounding away on the treadmill today. Tomorrow I will start to blog my weight and see what it does on a daily basis whilst on the GM diet. I still have the records of what it did last time so I will be comparing results (I love stats!!).

Take care and keep on keeping on!

Looking awesome.. I love a baked sweet potato .. Filled with grated vegetables .. Top it with some Greek yoghurt .. It's yummy .. (You can slightly cook the veggies if you don't like them raw )
