I think maybe I have had enough

Enough of being fat... Enough of clothes not fitting right.... enough of feeling less than happy.

There is a lady at work who has lost 67 pounds. I talked with her today. She looks great. She says that she is always worried about gaining it back and I guess I can understand. Its a heck of a batter to get it off once. Been there done that.
I asked about what she ate and what exercise she did. She gave me some good ideas of things I could do and I want to implement those into my life.
Now I have to just do it as the saying goes,
So do I choose a date, do I just start any day. Mmmmm? I know right now work is CRAZY everyone is bringing in food and we are working late a lot as well as weekends. Maybe I should wait till Oct 1. Syke myself up for this change of living gather recipes, develop a work out plan..
I know I have to do something, I have a doctors appointment next week for blood work, to rule out thyroid problems and the like. I have also stopped taking all prescription drugs. They were mostly for menopause symptoms and they made me tired and I think too laid back. I know twenty pounds came from being too laid back and eating whatever whenever. I am going to try a more natural approach with herbs and a better healthy lifestyle.
any comments about starting now verses Oct 1?

Life is always hectic and full or change. If you wait until these go away then you will never start. I would start tomorrow. Good luck.

Accepting change is hard. Working lots of hours, I've been there. For those days you know you'll be working late, bring dinner to work. I would become vegetarian on those days that we worked late. Of course it caught on but the depts accepted and employees who were older than me started to copy me. I didn't get it then but in my 40s now I'm understanding it. We took turns picking up healthier food choices. Split your lunch in half and finish later when you're working late. Ask if you can select different items from menu as long as it's within the company's food budget.
As for your thyroid, I'm really glad you're taking the initiative to take care of yourself. Ask for vitamin D3 and iron too as these also are related to our hormones.
Don't worry about when to start. Make small changes. For example, start with breakfast and log it ahead of time on our SP so you can stay within your food range. Then move on to lunch and snacks and finally to dinner.
If you try to focus on all day, it'll become overwhelming and you'll get burnt out. You're not here to eat healthy but to change your lifestyle so it'll stick permanently.
If you haven't exercised much and sit all day (I know you're already walking with our team which is great) but this time add dumbbells once you finish with your walk. Start slow as you're mind will try to convince you that there isn't time. Prioritize and make a daily schedule so you can squeeze few minutes. The schedule will also help you with meal planning choices too.
I hope this is helpful. emoticon emoticon

I say start immediately! You can still enjoy the treats and snacks at work, just take smaller portions. Pack meals instead of eating out on the fly. You can do this!

I say start tomorrow, there is no time that will be better, life will always be busy and there will always be something going on! Just go shopping for healthy food, plan a menu, read articles here and take one day at a time.
Remember that this is not a race, this is about a lifestyle change so just take it slow and learn as you go!
    You can do it!! emoticon
