I just wasn't getting the burn anymore from TurboFire or enjoyment from running. Don't get me wrong I love TurboFire, I recommend it HIGHLY and I look forward to revisiting it in the future. For now though especially with the changing of seasons it is important to be able to enjoy and feel refreshed from workouts so I don't lose focus. Home DVD's set up randomly just doesn't work for me and I'd been eyeing posts about T25 even when I was still in my 12 week challenge for TurboFire. I haven't heard one bad review about it and I'm time-strickened so I thought hey no time like now!
I was lucky that my timing matched up perfect because my BeachBody coach and the person above her just so happened to be starting a private Challenge Group on Facebook just like the one I'd been able to be a part of with TF. So I have that group that is on the same days as me and we check in with eachother everyday for accountability and then I have a lot of SparkFriends who do T25 or will be starting to talk to and be accountable with as well. I prefer working out alone but LOVE having the partners to go through things with day to day to build friendships, ask questions, rate products and programs with, etc.
So the basic schedule behind T25 for anyone who doesn't know is each workout is 25 minutes (actually 27.5 after the cool-down). You do this four days a week with the fifth day being doubled up so about 50-55 minutes that day. And that's it! When I say that's it I mean time wise because you do put in the work and you do sweat but after doing TF I am used to high intensity workouts so I'm loving it so far (On day 3). It is set up to start on Mondays with weekends odd and comes with an actual calendar you can hang up to make scheduling dummy proof. It even has spaces to allow that you check off it you Nailed It or if you had trouble keeping up so that you can see your progression over time. I have decided I need to do Sunday through Thursday though. Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday were always my running days so I have more time allowed for longer workouts if need be while Fridays are tough for me energy and timewise. SO getting the two workouts done on Thursdays will work out great along with the fact that now I can just take Fridays off unless I want to do a walk or run on the treadmill (colder weather coming!) or a nice Stretch 40 from TF:)
The first month is labeled as Alpha, the second is Beta and if you want to go on there is Gamma but I believe you need to order some extra DVD's to participate in Gamma. But hey if it keeps your body guessing why not!?
Anyhoo here is the schedule for my first month. I'll finish out this week as Mon-Fri but then on Sun switch.
CARDIO-done. Surprised myself and did pretty good considering first time. I need to work on being able to touch the ground in some of the fast moves though and getting my knees higher.
SPEED 1.0-had to move this to Wed morning. I was stuffed up and congested and decided it was best to go to bed early and do it in the morning with Day 3 workout at night so I can stay on track. I was able to complete. I did have to do some moves modified but I am feeling that burn anyway that I've missed so much!!
TOTAL BODY-Holy painful moly. This was no joke and I feel the burn in my upper arms and shoulders. I am finding I don't really like his cooldown, I don't feel like it is enough. On days I have time I might need to throw in some of my own or go back to TF and do Stretch 10
AB INTERVALS-I didn't want to get up this morning, my eyes and head felt so heavy. I'm glad I did though and I'm done with my workout for the day:)
