I'm not sure if what I do can really be considered training or not, but it's working for me. I try to do a short faster run, a medium run at a good pace and one loonngg run every so many weeks. I also put some sprint sessions in there and I always try to do one good sprint during my shorter runs. I figure if I've run my own 1/2 marathon twice, then I'm doing ok.

I have to brag about my kids and their support. For my birthday my girls went in together and bought me that really cute, and functional, running zip up jacket. I love it!

My oldest son used his own money and bought me a really pretty blue running shirt. He's 15 and did it without the encouragement of his sisters, but he did ask them to take him to the store. He picked out the shirt by himself.

I'm so lucky to have a family that supports me! My oldest will still say something about how little I am or how in shape I am, but she's eating well and we are honest with each other about her eating disorder. She knows that she looks at things "differently," but she's really trying!

That is why I will stick by her at the 1/2 marathon in April. I can run farther than her a bit faster, but this is about US. It's about being there for someone we love and it will be a "milestone" in her recovery.

Here's to milestones for all of us. Speaking of miles, I need to go run! emoticon
