Promises to Myself - 9/16/13

I read a Chris Powell book this past week - well sort of - still working on it! But he talks about how we need to make promises to ourselves and keep them. We don't break promises to our loved ones, friends, co-workers, etc. so why do we break promises to ourselves?

So starting today I will be making 3 promises daily and even though I might blog them every day as I want to start out strong and hope that you all will help keep me accountable. Each day I will make a promise in 3 categories: Physical (exercise), nutritioinal and emotional (or wellness).

So for Monday - September 16 here are my promises:

Physical - In addition to my walking I will use the Elliptical for at least 15 minutes. I have a love/hate relationship with this machine. I hate that it makes my butt hurt but love that it is great for hanging my jacket on! But I spent the money for it and need to use it. And also 15 minutes of lower body strength training. I can walk for hours but unless I start upping the intensity then I will keep staying where I am.

Nutritional - no chocolate! One day at a time.............

Emotional - Bed by 2:30 a.m. I have a tendency to stay up and play games, etc. until 3 or 4 or later. Then I sleep way too late then I have to scramble to get to work. I need to start getting up earlier so I can do things during the daylight hours like a normal human being and not some vampire.

So that's it for today. I am planning on blogging every day for a week at least so that I can be accountable. And start forming good habits.

    Great promises! You and I seem to keep the same hours. I have been forcing myself to turn off the computer/ipad/phone and just enjoy a low volume movie or show...and then I shut it off and pop on an audiobook and wham! I'm asleep! I would highly recommend. You can even get Chris's books on audible.com I'm sure. I like listening to Jillian Michael's and Bob Harpers...etc. I also LOVE Jillian Michale's podcast...OMG...hard to fall asleep to because I'm laughing too hard...but great to wake up to! :)
