More than a Number

Monday, September 16, 2013

It is 10 at night right now and I just finished my first ever HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) workout on the Turbofire DVD (not including the low HIIT which has no jumping) and I am sky high! I've got my chocolate protein shake in my hand and a smile on my face! The reason I am so happy is even though I was scared about trying this HIIT for the first time I put it in and not only did the workout like a champ, but every time I felt like turning the video off because it was too hard I would keep going! I did something i was scared of and i pushed though when it was hard! I think this speaks absolute volumes about the progress i have made! In 6 months i have managed to change the way:
-i think about food and how much to eat
-What are good foods and how to moderate bad foods
-Learned that slow progress is still progress
-Pushed through the tough workouts til the end, even if i didn't make it i kept trying
-Learned to love myself and my body
-Made fitness a permanent part of my life schedule and learnt to love the burn!

This just barely skims the surface for all the things i have learnt about myself and life! 6 months ago if you would have said "Caitlin, you will be 30 pounds lighter and love to workout." I would have called you insane. Here I am, lighter and just loving the healthy life!

For those of you who have just begun or maybe just have been having a tough time, i feel you. I know exactly what you are feeling, the emotional roller coaster that a weight loss journey can send you on is not always fun. Just stick with it, for every down there will be an up. I promise you, the hard work will pay off in more ways than you may know. If you need a pick-me-up or a bit of motivation feel free to add my as a friend or shoot me an email. Remember, you're healthier than you were yesterday
