Lazy Sunday blues

Sunday, September 15, 2013

This week has had its rough patches. The allergy vaccine I started Tuesday overtaxed my immune-system and made an underlying infection run rampant. I've been on antibiotics since Wednesday, and ugh, they make me feel sluggish.

I attended an important meeting on Friday. Looking back I wish I could have performed better at it. I am happy with the evaluation given me at the meeting, and not displeased by the shorter-term outcome. Despite this, I just can't help to think back and feel I should have been better prepared. I had hoped to make a better impression!

And, ever since weighing at my Allergists office, I've suffered the battle of "mind vs. scales". This week I have been weighed at both my Allergists and at my GP. Both scales were in disagreement with the other, still both very much agreed MINE was underestimating. I get that they are just numbers, I really do. Still I must admit, I was rattled.

Oh well, I just need to relax some now, to regain my strength and resolve. I will come back stronger next week, I promise. Both body and mind!

I'm sorry to hear of your negative reaction to the allergy "shots." Isn't it amazing how something like that, and the scale numbers, can bring your motivation train to a halt! I hope that you can find something positive to attach yourself to, that will carry you towards your goals. We will all be rooting for you! Keep that chin up!

Seconding Madeit3's comment - just because the scale is at the doctor's office doesn't mean it's more accurate - it's still just scale. I have actually had two widely differing weights recorded within an hour of each other, and both office staff assured me that the office scale had just been serviced. *eye roll*

Here's to staying in bed with tea and the 'net!

You're right - spend some time relaxing and give your body a chance to recoup. Sounds like you've been stressed on many fronts. A day in bed would tempt me!!

As for your doctor's scales - they are always highly inaccurate. I own a doctor's scale and it fluctuates depending on the humidity. I wouldn't put a lot of store in what your doctor's scale says.
