Pedometer Talk

Saturday, September 14, 2013

So yesterday my pedometer said I walked 14,555 steps. I seriously doubt that number is correct. I don't think I walked that much. Im pretty sure at least some of those steps were counted in the truck on the day's road trip. It's a sport line mechanical pendulum style pedometer. I think I paid around 5 bucks for it.

I know I was pretty active yesterday. I was on my feet a lot and did a Turbo Jam workout and all, but I did that before when I was using the Pacer iPhone app and I still had to throw in an extra walk to get to 10k. So either the sport line is too generous with steps or the iphone app was being greedy... Or maybe a little of both.

Despite that, I'll still use the pedometer everyday until my new one comes in. (I check the package tracking every morning like a little kid lol). I'm quite addicted to getting to 10k each day ;-). But like Chalene Johnson says, "It's not such a bad thing to be addicted to." I just feel so satisfied at the end of the day when those little numbers show me that I reached my fitness goal that day. I also feel thankful that I am ABLE to do it. We don't always realize it, but the ability to walk is a BLESSING. And I am enjoying counting those blessings one step at a time...

I used to use one of those and limited my use of it to only when I was walking because it counts every time to sit down or stand up.
