30 Day Shred Day 6

Thursday, September 12, 2013

Well, today was a crazy day. I knew I had to be at work super early, so I woke up at 5 to do my workout. I got that done and out of the way. It really has been helping me to feel more alert in the mornings, and keep energy through out the day.

I had to go to a city a ways away for work, and I was there all day. The person that we took over wanted to eat at Golden Corral, and I don't think I did horribly there. I started out with a salad that I loaded up with veggies and some sunflower seeds and some cottage cheese. I had a small bowl of soup. And then I got a plate with a couple of bites of a few foods that I wanted, like green beans (healthy, right?), some mac'n'cheese (not so healthy), some liver and onions, and some stuffing (again, not so healthy). I skipped dessert, since most of what they had was calore-loaded cakes, pies, ice cream, and the chocolate fondue fountain.

We didn't get back until it was almost time to leave, and it turned out I had to run to a doctor's office really quickly. So I was a little bit late picking SO up from work.

We went to a club that we're members of for hamburger night. They either have 1/4 or 1/2 pound burgers, so I went with a 1/4 burger with green chile and ate about half the fries they served with it.

It wasn't the healthiest day, but I don't think I handled it horribly. I loaded up on water all day. I skipped the beer at the bar and stuck with water. I was DD, and I'd had a headache most of the day, so it worked for me both calorie-wise and responsible-wise. Sticking with water seemed to kill my headache off, too.

I am sure it is mostly water weight, since I haven't had soda since Sunday, but I couldn't resist and weighed myself today, and I was down about a pound and a half. I didn't record it because I will wait until I weigh myself on Saturday to report my weight. But I've been watching the mirror, and I feel like my stomach is smaller (well, it doesn't poke out as much) and the flab of skin underneath my chin feels smaller, and my thighs feel a little smaller. Like I said, I know it is water weight because I'm not as bloated since I stopped drinking the soda, but I am still pleased to be able to see some results in the mirror. Saturday, I'm going to start doing weekly measurements, too, and then I'll know whether I'm crazy or not.

All in all, it has been a long and crazy day, and I'm exhausted, so I'm going to get some sleep and start again tomorrow.

Whoa, busy day :) Sleep well!!

A week is really not much time to see improvements - I'd almost be worried if I saw changes after just a week, as it might mean you are being too drastic and depriving yourself too much which will lead to rebounding. But, of course sometimes it DOES happen that way and you can sustain a weekly improvement, so good for you if so!

The main thing is to check out how you feel, if you are really tired and hungry all the time, you might be taking on too much too fast! Don't get carried away and overdo things, it will be easier if you go gently in the long run.

You reminded me I haven't drunk enough water today... I'm so bad for that! Thanks for the reminder - and well done for keeping yourself on track with it :D
