A Little Nervous Today

Thursday, September 12, 2013

I woke up at 2:30 a.m. I think I must be nervous about teaching my first adult money management class for Love, INC. tonight (in Spanish!) I really am excited about this volunteer opportunity, because budgeting is something I actually enjoy. I know it sounds weird and geeky, but I actually LIKE paying bills and balancing checkbooks. Budgeting has been such a freeing thing for me, and has allowed our family (on the low end of American middle class) to live well and debt free. So I'm happy to have a chance to share this info with others. But I still feel nervous about it, and especially since I have to teach it in Spanish. So I'd appreciate any prayers you'd care to send up for me today.
On a different subject, I was so excited this morning to be at exactly 151 pounds that when I entered it on my weight loss tracker I accidently put 51 pounds! I got a notification that I should be careful not to eat too little and exercise too much. I'm still laughing. I also got a friend comment congratulating me on my 100 pound loss!

I love balancing the checkbooks too - guess that makes me a geek also. I enjoy trying to budget, although I have to admit that the recent medical bills makes it a little more difficult....
I will be keeping you in my prayers for tonight! What a wonderful thing to do to teach others (especially in SPANISH). I'm sure you will do fine.
Oh, I needed that laugh about your 100 pound loss!!! emoticon and the notification. I would be excited too about the weight! Good job!!!

You are absolutely right, budgeting is such a freeing thing!

Now that we budget, we have been able to travel so much more and enjoy life.

Good for you passing that knowledge on to others!
