You Won't Rain On My Parade

Thursday, September 12, 2013

It is now near the end of day 3 of my week of work travel. (I fly home tomorrow night.)

I have to admit, prior to flying out to Denver, I was a little worried how I'd do with eating and exercise. In the past when travelling I ate pretty bad and sort of used the travel as an excuse to not exercise, drink beers for dinner, and pretty much sabotage anything healthy.

This time though I tried to prepare a little better. I packed my exercise clothes, looked online for healthy dinner places, and also found a market I could stop in so I could buy some veggies and fruits to have as snacks.

And it worked!

I ate sensibly every day. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks.

I went to the gym on Monday night and Wednesday night (tonight). It was a 3/4 mile walk to the gym.

I walked to the conference location each day instead of taking the shuttle. (Also a 3/4 mile walk.)

And ... I walked in the rain. To the grocery store. To the gym. To the conference. It started raining just after our planed landed, and pretty much rained throughout.

But damn-it, I live in the Pacific NW ... rain. *pah* Just try and rain on my exercise parade.

    Thanks you two ...

Jen - Nice to see you again .... it's been a while! And I admit, at the end of the night, when going to bed, it felt good knowing I did good ... that motivated me for the next day.

Damegris - Wait ... what are we calling you here???? Anyway, shhhh about the picture. I stole if off the internet and did not give credit to where ever I .... errr ... borrowed it from. Heh.

Love the determination - you did a great job while traveling! That's really inspiring to me; I travel for work and like you, I tend to use it as an excuse to blow my diet. I'm going to try your tips and get more fitness and healthy food in on my next business trip. Thanks for sharing your tips!
