I Will Never Forget...

Wednesday, September 11, 2013

I will never forget the moment by moment play of 9/11. It was the one time in my life that my Guard unit had a real recall, not a practice. We never went after being called since so many other first responders flooded the city that sending more in would have just added to the chaos. We all so badly wanted to help; you couldn't help but watch things transpire on TV without feeling the need to do something to help all of our American brothers and sisters who were suffering. I will say a prayer tonight for those who we lost and those they left behind. God bless.

Thanks for the comments. It was certainly a wild time and worth remembering for all the good things, like how the nation came together afterward.

I felt the same way... I really wanted to help. I worked at a hospital outside of DC that handled traumas. I signed up to help, but they didn't need me or anyone else who signed up, because there were not enough survivors from the pentagon that required care. Thank you for all that you do as a first responder. I pray for you, the military, the first responders, and all Americans who were affected by 9/11. emoticon
