I have a hard time really knowing just what sizes I have been in the past - it's tied in with many years of distorted perception and thinking that I just wasn't the 'right' size. But because of my penchant for analyzing how things change over time I keep trying to get a measure on it. So I end up looking through old pictures and remembering how I felt at particular times... I can say that I definitely feel more fit than I remember feeling in the past - I feel more confident in my ability to physically do energetic activities for extended periods and less convinced that I look terrible doing it. Sure I get red faced and I sweat.... but if I didn't sweat I'd be looking at symptoms of heat stroke and that's not very good now is it? I'll take the sweat, thanks.
That being said, I've been belly dancing for quite some time now, not professionally - just for fun, although I do take classes and aim to improve my technique. One thing that I keep noticing is that I feel like I can dance for longer, and while my breathing is heavier as I go and my muscles tire - I don't feel *winded* like I did. And bonus - I have pictures (very few though) of myself dancing at different times to compare.

visually I think the differences can be fairly small, but in terms of how I feel and my capability to dance... there's a large range that I've traveled :)
edit note... I just realized I'm wearing the same skirt in 3 out 4 pictures... I swear I own more than one skirt :) that one is just my favorite haha and there is a conspicuous lack of pictures from 2010 thru 2012 (not very good years health wise)
