Vacation, Milestones and Life

Sunday, September 08, 2013

I just returned from vacation! It was so much fun. I was able to spend my 30th birthday in DISNEYLAND! Not only is it the happiest place on earth but the best place ever to spend a birthday, they really know how to make you feel special there.

The last time I was in Disneyland was almost 5 years ago. I was easily at my heaviest weight. It was fun last time but I was so restricted. Walking was difficult, I was petrified that I wouldn't be able to fit in the rides, it just felt like there was a cloud over the whole trip.

This time was totally different. I was active, I even worked out everyday. Other than a blister I was almost unfazed by all the walking. I never once had to worry about fitting in the rides and really I was just able to enjoy the entire trip.

I was even able to go the beach an not feel like a whale!

I also just realized that on August 8th I celebrated my 18th month of maintenance. There have been some ups and downs but I have been successfully maintaining in the range that I planned on staying in. I have spent more time on the higher range than I wanted to but I feel good. I feel in control and free. Anyways hope all is well with you all!

You said the magic words: You feel in control. After all those years of being a victim, we find out that we really can control our weight, and that feeling can never be conveyed in an ad for a product. Congrats on getting there by the time you were 30!! And Happy Birthday!

My wife and I took my son to Disneyland when he was about 8 or 10. It was not the happiest place on earth. Not for these bedraggled parents. But I think he did have fun. Congratulations on your maintenance. Glenn
