Step 13, Reset, Repeat

Friday, September 06, 2013

You should be well on your way to a new healthy lifestyle. Now you just need to continue doing that. You may have found things that work and things that don't.

You need to start over every day new. If you didn't do something that you thought was best the day before, reset again the next meal or next day. You have the choice to try again every day or let that little slip up ruin your entire week.

Repeat the things that are helping you along. Then repeat them again. You can't get away from the things that are healthy for you, they are essential to your health and if you don't do them you will stop being healthy.

Repeat the healthy thoughts along with your healthy diet and fitness routine. Tell yourself that you can do it! Remind yourself that you are worth it! Repeat to yourself that you feel great when you eat great! Remind yourself that you have more energy when you exercise which gives you more energy to exercise.

The more you repeat the easier it is to repeat. Eventually those things that you had to think about to do become habit and you don't even have to think about them, plus you may even miss the new things you're doing if you don't get to do them.

So go out there and do it! You want to be healthy, so do the things that make you healthy! Then do them again!

Today's Holidays: Fight Procrastination day (probably to go against yesterday's Be Late For Something Day), National Iguana Awareness Day, Read a Book Day and National Coffee Ice Cream Day.

I really like the advice to start every day new. Many of us look back at yesterday as a "failure" and desperately try to start again. But if we accept that every single day is a new opportunity, then there is no failure.

Thanks for the great advice! This whole series has been wonderful.

DH has continually bought candy pumpkins, very hard cheap cookies and potato chips into the house. I am so glad I am hep to his tricks. It irks him that I am not caving in to the stuff. I told him ONE pumkin is like 1/2 slice of bread AND about 100% sugar.

    He's a diabetic.
    I'm a recovering food addict.
    Spark on.

Great advice. We all have a slip up now and again, but learn from it, begin fresh and move on. We can't dwell on the past, just keep moving forward in a positive way.
