Time to celebrate

Thursday, September 05, 2013

Every one had a great time this past weekend at our family reunion in spite of the heat. Especially my grandmother who recently turned 90. We had a small celebration with the immediate family on her actual birthday but had a big family celebration at the reunion dinner this past Sunday. If you saw her you wouldn't believe she's that young! It's hard to believe with every thing she's faced through out her life, that she is doing so well but we have learned not to let or guard down. My mom called me today with a tone in her voice that didn't sound good after she insisted we go out for dinner before heading to church. It was hen that she dropped the bomb on me-Momo, my grandmother's cancer had possibly progressed further. Some how I had expected this sooner or later but not now! She is a two time survivor of breast cancer and was diagnosed with lung cancer last year and she gave up smoking over 30 years ago. We will find out one way or another tomorrow after they run a full PET scan. Please keep her in your prayers!

You're fortunate to have a grandmother who has lived into her nineties. It might mean you have some of your own good genes for longevity. Good luck to you, Glenn
