Blew it for August, Better in September?

Wednesday, September 04, 2013

My goal beginning in August was to lose a pound and a half a week till mid-October. Ha!
I was on form for the first two weeks, then fell away. Badly. I regained what I'd lost plus a pound. So, here we go again. I'm starting my day with 10 minutes of yoga, having a small snack with coffee, letting it 'settle' while I meditate for a bit, then going for a run/walk. AND NO COMPUTER TILL AFTER THE WALK! Period. No Sparking, no email, no eBay, no net surfing. It's too danged easy to sit down for 10 minutes at the computer and not get up for hours and hours and hours. That's what's been sapping my determination to exercise every day.

I *can* do this. I've done it before. I'll do it again. I *have* to.

i set myself up for failure somedays by sparking too early, i post what exercise im gonna do then i spend the whole day trying to work it in.
im glad to see you are trying so hard to get back on track, ive seen alot of posts like yours, my own included, here going into sept.
i think it marks the end of summer, fun and snacking and falling away from exercise.
it begins, for me anyway, a whole new year and outlook.
im on a 5 day walking streak and if weather and my feet allow, i see no end in sight.
good luck and keep on doing what works. emoticon emoticon

    Hey Ken,
I think you have had the best results when you were training for a race. The calorie burn associated with the various phases of a training cycle might be the assist that will get you there.

Sounds like a good plan. When I can identify what's holding me back, it becomes easier to move forward. Goals are great, but you do need to reassess them periodically.

I lost some weight, but as soon as I heard I had a medical problem, I blew it and gained. I am back down now after a month. But my worst months are the holidays. They never serve the foods I need, and then I am stuck at someone's house for so long, that I just start binging. One time, I actually brought foods with me, and that worked. It did cause people to question why I was doing it though. Funny how people think turkey is healthy , and just take the skin off. I am usually screwed up for 3 weeks from thanksgiving food.
