Day 157 - My First 5K! Sort of...

Tuesday, September 03, 2013

Last night my son convinced me to join the 5K Zombie race. emoticon I could either be a zombie or a racer. emoticon I did not want to be chased, I would be freaking out too much!!! So, I will be a zombie! emoticon

My two sons (and maybe my daughter) will be racers and my oldest son's girlfriend and I will be the chasers! emoticon We will be in zombie makeup too!

The event will take place on September 21st towards the evening. Afterwards, there will be a party! I am actually really excited to do this! emoticon

Today I walked / jogged / sprinted / and ran 6 miles. I just mixed it all up. It was such a beautiful and cool morning! I just wished I did 10 miles but unfortunately my left leg and foot started to hurt. I do not want to push through any pain.

Maybe tonight, I will add more mileage...

Have fun with the Zombie race. I was going to do the color run in a few weeks, but noticed that all these races are a bit expensive and I rather hold on until I'm good and ready and able to run and feel good about myself before joining these races. My friend tried to convenience me but I don't think she understands where I come from and that's where we miscommunicate a lot. When I told her I had changed my mind and explained to her why? She didn't understand and said, "I already knew you were going to say no." as well as other things like I'm scared. Yes I am I admit it because I have never ran these races and the money doesn't help that you have to pay for a race, which she said all races you pay for. I just don't see the logic of paying for something that all you do is run and the business running the race gets a profit and that's it. I rather run for a cure or something more meaningful than just to pay and run. I could just run for free outside my house, but I still don't think she understands my logic. She sort of hurt my pride. Well enough about that, I wish you all the best on your run and YES I will post daily my workout experiences on my blog. It helps so much to have people like you to keep me accountable. You are a great SP buddy. thank you for being there for me. emoticon
