I can't believe it's already September! How'd that happen so fast?
This past weekend was awesome. I took Friday off, making it a four-day weekend. Saturday was my birthday. J took me out to a really nice dinner in DC. Our reservation wasn't until 9:45PM and they were running behind when we got there. Turns out J gets cranky when he's hungry. HAHA good to know. It was DELICIOUS. It's a mediterranean tapas place. We got hummus, tabbouleh, pita bread, white beans and kale (OMG MUST FIND RECIPE), falafel, a meat thing for J, and an apricot dessert thing. I'm pretty sure there was one more thing but I can't figure out what. Everything was so good! It was a LOT of food though. At least we had a walk back to the car several blocks away. :) We were that obnoxious couple sitting on the same side of the booth. I totally make fun of people like us. Ah, young love. :)
I did go for a run on Saturday and went to the charity boot camp on Monday. OMG I forgot how hard boot camp is! I am stupidly sore today and it's making me realize I miss it. I am apparently a masochist.
This week - and month - I really need to step it up a bit. The scale is stuck and I want to get it moving again. I'm going to focus on clean eating and ramp up the exercise schedule. I read an article about most people needing 250-300 fitness minutes per month to maximize weight loss so I'm going to try really hard to do that. I've been doing more like 180. That means basically 60 minutes five days a week ... it's a lot, but it seems doable. I'm at the gym about that often anyway - it just means for me staying longer. Not just 30 minutes on the treadmill and calling it a day. Might as well run harder and lift some weights every time I go to get in 50-60 minutes.
I'm not going to set a specific number goal. I ALWAYS end up disappointed in myself when I do that. Instead, my only goal is that on October 1st the number on the scale is smaller than it was on September 1st. Slow and steady is fine with me.
