Some Days I'm Just Smacking One Idiot Away From An Assault Charge....

Monday, September 02, 2013

Last Thursday, I got up with a smile on my face, a song in my heart, looked out my front window and wondered why my sprinkler system wasn't "sprinkling"! So out the door I go at 7:05 in the morning, and discover a slight gurgling of the sprinklers in Zone 4, and the one in the far corner of my front yard that waters the flower bed is a virtual geiser, watering the gutter. Yay.

And people wonder why I'm anti-social. What sort of person breaks off a sprinkler in someone's yard and just lets it lay there? No knock on the door. No note. I personally wish whoever did it crabs the size of orange crates!

My handyman couldn't get here to help until this afternoon, so the street got another watering yesterday. The sprinkler that was broken is one that is elevated on a 1/2" PVC pipe, so I wanted to find a way to protect it from either the same or another ill-bred, un-mannered, a$$hole. This is what I came up with:

I like it so much that I think I will start buying another couple of panels and rods each month and extend it on both sides of the flower bed!

At least my weekend was good. My son had friends over on Friday, so I ordered pizza, baked another cake (my friend, Tricia, had a birthday) and did some laundry. Yes, my life is that exciting! Saturday, I caught up on the yard work and worked in the garden until it got too hot, did the weekly shopping, and spent a couple of hours with my friend, came home and did more laundry, and relaxed.

Yesterday, I did more yard work and gardening, and went to dinner at my friends, Jim and Keith's house. Very good time, awesome food, and great conversation.

This morning, I had breakfast out with Tricia, followed her around while she shopped for makeup and shoes (I hate to shop), and finally ended up at Lowes, where I looked for stuff for my sprinkler repair.

We were lucky enough to not get rain today, so I grilled steaks and had that, baked potato and salad for dinner. One of my son's favorite dinners! So our Labor Day holiday was a pretty good one.

Oh, and remember my last blog? My co-worker took off for vacation and was out Thursday and Friday. Tonight, I get a phone call, an email, and a text from our boss. The message on the text and the email on said, "PLEASE CALL ME. IT'S URGENT." He always says that, and usually it's because he can't find the remote for the TV or something. Unless he gives me a valid reason to call him back and it's something I can actually help with, fat chance I'm going to call him.

Two and a half hours later, I get a frantic call from my co-worker, who was stupid enough to call him back and is now at the office trying to file something in a civil case through the State e-filing portal. I call her back - She says the portal says the password is invalid and did I change it? Seriously? I remind her that TODAY IS A HOLIDAY AND YOU CAN'T E-FILE UNTIL TOMORROW!!!!! emoticon

So Mr. Inconsiderate has interrupted me, and interrupted her vacation (she not due back until Thursday!!!), and made her come down to the office at 6:30 p.m. on a HOLIDAY (it was 8:40 when she called me, so she'd been working for over two hours!!), for something that no one can do anything about until tomorrow ANYWAY, when I will be there at my regular time. I can't decide if he's an idiot or just an a$$hole! emoticon

And on that note, I'm signing off and going to bed. TTFN emoticon

Hey...I really LIKE that new look! I too agree...an expanse across the entire flower bed would look great! I don't know about your boss...he sounds like BAD, BAD news! Do you watch 'Breaking Bad'? I can't help but picture your boss lawyer as the same 'freak out' lawyer they have on that show. You should check it out...and then tell your boss to not go all 'BREAKING BAD' on you! emoticon

Your co worker is a derp! AND she's VERY co-dependent...it's exactly these types that create and feed the manic monster bosses of the world. I'd tell him that when you are off work..you are unavailable PERIOD...and that your cell phone isn't even turned on..that you have to tend ..........whoever, whatever.....but you are UNAVAILABLE!

Gosh...I feel for you sweetie pie...being as smart as you are and surrounded by idiots must be YUCK CITY!

My hubs has the ability to go all manic...gets it from his crazy mania mad mother...when he goes into a melt down I just tell him when he's done throwing his toddler tantrum I'll talk to him...until then...I'm UNAVAILABLE...must work..we've managed to ride the rough waves for some 35 years. I used to get sucked into his drama...no more..that's WHY they invented headphones, or a car to take you elsewhere, or an upstairs jewelry studio that is a NO DRAMA zone! emoticon emoticon

Great way to fix the sprinkler situation and it looks amazing .. really defines your property. And I agree more panels would be nice.
I think your boss and my husband could be related .. they are like turds in the toilet .. not happy until they drag everyone else into their swirling drama .. scream and holler and get everyone upset then calm down and go about other business ... Someone has to pull the handle or shut the lid .. good for you, you recognise the game and choose not to play !! That really enrages these kind of people .. quite the life
Lets make cartoons about them then compare ... great therapy except my cartoon keeps playing after working hours are through .. Makes me laugh .. used to drive me nuts .. not anymore it really is funny ... it's an adult tantrum ... some people just need their last liken !!!
Wishing you a happy rest of the week free from drama and turds !!! lol
