Yesterday's Updates and Challenge Blog

Monday, September 02, 2013

Yesterday started out bad but turned around. My friend was coming to spend the day by the pool. It was pouring. Didn't cancel because we always have fun visiting anyway.

Went to my mother's and she was sleeping at 11am!! Said she didn't feel well. Asked about going to ER, etc. and said she didn't need to. She ended up sleeping for 2 hours and getting up right before the caregiver arrived. I think it was a combo of things - staying up late due to a fill-in caregiver the night before and a larger dose of one of her meds (that causes drowsiness). I fixed her lunch and she ate it. Was fine the rest of the day.

When I returned home, sun was out and hubby and friend were lounging by the pool enjoying snacks. emoticon I joined them! We had a nice visit!

Today my mother was back to her usual self so all is right with the world. emoticon

For the WIO Oregon Trail Challenge the task is to eat a healthy meal, take a photo of it, and blog about it.

I want to include a disclaimer: I eat 6 small meals a day on the carb cycling plan. Some are more calories than others.

This is one that I enjoy often. It is around 300 calories.

Cottage cheese, tomato slices, and Paul Newman (lower carb) Caesar salad dressing.

Nothing too fancy about it but this time of year the tomatoes are awesome! It’s easy to pack for lunch too.

Gorgeous picture of you food. Almost makes me forget there is cottage cheese in there. You deserve a medal for eating that.

When you are doing the carb cycling, do they recommend you count calories too? Just curious.
