Where did summer GO?

I guess I accomplished my goal for this summer, which was to be really busy having fun with the kids and finding time to still exercise! Which includes training for a half marathon which is in about 2 weeks from now.

I like blogging, mainly just for myself, as I'm not active on here and I've never logged activity minutes or counted calories on here. I joined groups and once in a rare while I check in, honestly, I don't have the time, I barely have time to do this but I like to once a month at least. I feel blogging is another way of spending time on ME, if even for a short time. Time to reflect. Time to make a plan or a goal if I need to set one. Or time to stop and be proud.

So, July and August flew by! We did beaches, water parks, play grounds, Chuckee Cheese, Putt Putt Golf, saw Dispicable Me 2, bounce houses, pool parties, carnivals, sprinkler pads, vacations, fireworks, glow in the dark golf, visited friends and so much more! On that end I was very successful. I wish we'd had a warmer summer, it was unseasonably cool here in MI and we had one week it rained every day. But, we took advantage of the nicer days to do the usual summer time fun.

Even on the exercise front I did super well. I think with the exception of the 2 weeks we went on vacation, I exercised 4 days a week at least, some weeks 5 or 6 days. Food was a motivation I'll admit, as usual summer is the toughest time for me eating-wise. SO many parties, birthdays, get-togethers, stops for ice-cream, ladies nights out, date nights, couples nights You get the idea! Anyway, I seemed to have stayed in my range this summer which is 113.5-116.5 115 Has been a pretty consistent number for me. Although my inches I think have crept up a bit, unless it was just bloating (hopeful, lol) on the day I measured. That's ok though.

I still think about trying to lose a couple extra pounds and mainly inches...but, IDK. I think it's just that idea of wanting to be perfect. Which, will never be. lol Not after you have a baby and was 10-20lbs overweight most of my life until the last 3 years.

So, here's to celebrating THREE summers of wearing a cute bathing suit in a size SIX! Keeping active and healthy for 3 years! It's my way of life now and I love it. I feel great, I'm so healthy, I hardly have any health issues (I used to get more headaches and stomach aches). I struggle with stress and trying to "do it all", but, don't we ALL?

Here's to next week my oldest starting 2nd grade and my youngest starting preschool! Phew. I made it. lol I cherish the days I had my boys home, and especially when they were small. But, I am ready for a new chapter, I am ready to have a bit more of me time during the day, and I'm sure you can guess what I'll use it for right?? Running! lol Speaking of which, hoping I have a great story to share with you after the 15th of sept- about my 2nd half marathon!

    Sounds like you had a wonderful summer with your kids! Those water parks and amusement parks are so much fun with the kids! I took my two as well this summer and had a blast! Good luck on your 2nd half marathon!

    Sounds like you really made the best of the summer! And you are very positive. My summer exercising had been put on hold caus ethe weather has been too humid, and hot. Even in doors I don't have air, and no gym membership.
