Successful BLC22 15.20 lbs. in 12 weeks
Thursday, August 29, 2013
Today is Thursday, August 29, 2013, first day in-between BLC rounds. I have to say I surprised myself and did reach my original BLC22 goal (15-17 pounds). I finished strong and over all stats 15.20 pounds lost, 7% total weight loss percentage.
My original baby-step goal when I seriously began this workout/weight loss journey on 8/27/12 was to go from 235.5 to 191 for a total loss of 44.5 pounds. I am not there yet, I have 11 pounds to go to reach baby-step goal #1.
At the 1 year anniversary of workout/weight loss journey I had successfully lost 33.5 pounds. This one year also included 2 months of recovery after major surgery on my right ankle, repairing severed and shredded tendons with stem cells. Despite the surgery and recovery time, this has been a very successful year and I’m proud of myself for keeping my goals always in sight and not giving up.
Switching Gears: I have more to lose to reach my ultimate goal of 165 and which will put me in a healthy BMI range. However, NOW I realize that it can be done…it’s not just a far-off dream…I can do it. I now know that sodium is my enemy. It makes my joints hurt, it interferes with my sleep (because of the pain) and I retain copious amounts of fluid when I have exceeded my daily range. I also have realized through my detox from processed foods that breads and starches (not including beans) are also detrimental to my overall health. I confess I am a processed food carbohydrate junky. These foods are like crack to a junkie. I cannot have them, not one little bite. I wouldn’t give drugs to a junkie…I will not do that to myself.
So with all this being said,
I will continue to track my food and their nutrients during this break between BLC rounds.
I will continue to strength and cardio train. If I cannot make it to the gym on M-W-F, I will treadmill at home.
I will stay in touch with my teammates and post daily of my progress.
I will ask for help if I find I am losing ground with my confidence.
I will NOT gain more than 2 pounds without phasing back to day one.
I will weigh and post on my tracker.
I will succeed.
Without Spark People and my BLC22 challenges and teammates I couldn’t have stayed the course. If anyone reading this has not signed up for BLC, seriously consider, it is life-changing!
