Its a challenge

Its a challenge to find a way of eating that works for me and doesn't lead to me having mini-binges on sugary foods. I had an excellent first half of the day yesterday, but as soon as I got home from work I was ravenous and ate an entire large box of milk duds (and felt quite sick after.) Today, my plan is to try to eat more protein at breakfast, and see if that helps to curb the urge to eat too much sugar in the afternoon.

    I am the same way! I could eat everything in sight around 4 PM. I try to plan an appropriate snack for that time to stave off the cravings. (I love milk duds! Been there done that!)

    I try to use chocolate substitutions like Jello sugar free chocolate pudding cups with a spritz of low fat whipped cream or a mini chocolate cupcake from Walmart. Then I pair it with a low fat string cheese for protein. A boiled egg also helps control my hunger.

    Remember that we are trying to change lifelong eating habits and this won't happen overnight. Patience is the hardest part of this journey.

    My weakness is also sweets, especially in the afternoon or evening. You could try planning some healthy afternoon or after work snacks like yogurt or fruit, something that tastes sweet to help satisfy your sweet tooth. It can be hard to retrain the sweet tooth, it takes a little planning ahead.
