Progress on so many levels

Tuesday, August 27, 2013

Tomorrow I have a job interview at another library.
I am studying the research about the library and area. I am also preparing questions to counter when they ask me if I have questions.

My husband got to drink ginger ale and pepsi today at rehab, and ate some homemade scotch soda bread. He sat up in a chair, and worked with physical therapy and speech therapy. He was really aching tonight. No wonder. He was using muscles untouched for the last month. Yay for progress.

I am also very thrilled at finally reaching 20 lbs lost again. This time I am pretty sure it won't come back. I can't eat eggs due to allergy. I have food intollerance to wheat and soy. Those things throw out all the cookies and baked goods out of my life.

With Ron in the hospital/rehab, I added more walking to my 1.5 - 2.5 miles walked at work. I may not be doing heavy duty workouts, but I am doing, and it is working. I am still trying to do a little toning, light weights, when I can.

I am making progress, and considering what I have gone through over the last month with my husband's surgery, cardiac arrest, infections, collapsed lung, fevers, dehydration, medical neglect, inability to swallow, etc. I am dealing ok.

One baby step at a time.
Now I have to convince my husband of that.
Imagine his joy when he could finally have something wet to drink, and not just gelatinous.

emoticon emoticon on the 20 lbs lost! Ironic a health issue has forced you to give up the things you love for food! Walking is as good as an exercise as anything else and safest too. I hope you get this new job you are seeking, though I thought you were happy with the one you have..
Your poor husband has been through the wringer. Hoping the worst is over and he can finally start making a full recovery. In all of this, how is the result of the surgery, has it healed properly?
Keep on taking care of yourself, you are worth it,
